Tommy Hilfiger Sheds $9 Million For “Just Built” Palm Beach HouseBy Amanda Cooper
Usually, when people think about building a home from scratch, they move to a budget-friendly nearby rental.
However, unlike them, Tommy Hilfiger purchased another property near his under-construction estate in Palm Beach. Well, if anyone could do it, it had to be a millionaire like Hilfiger, right?
In January 2021, Tommy Hilfiger and his wife, Dee Ocleppo Hilfiger, announced they’d be relocating to Palm Beach. The couple also shared plans of purchasing and renovating a large estate in South Florida.
However, even before they stepped foot into their dream estate, Hilfiger bought a newly constructed, fully furnished abode in Palm Beach for $9 million, where he plans to put up till the time his larger estate gets ready. (*Sigh*) The rich and their ways!!
Let’s take a look at what his new residence offers.
Located at 244 Fairview Road, the house was sold to Villa Deniz LLC by 244 Fairview LLC’s manager, John Flynn. FYI, Villa Deniz LLC is a Delaware-registered limited liability company involved in Hilfiger’s previous real estate purchases and sales.
In January 2021, Toni Hollis and Gloria Moré of Waterfront Properties and Club Communities listed the house for $9.3 million. And on March 3, 2021, the Hilfigers, represented by broker Christian Angle of Christian Angle Real Estate, sealed the deal.
A peek inside the lavish home
Designed by Daniel Menard of LaBerge and Menard Inc., the Bermuda-style house flaunts a white exterior with sky blue shutters. The two-story structure sits over a 4,970 sq. ft. area and has cathedral ceilings and spacious rooms.
It boasts three bedrooms, four bathrooms, a living room with a fireplace, and a modular kitchen. Every bedroom in the house features an en suite bathroom except for the main suite, with dual closets and two bathrooms. The outdoor area is laced with a large swimming pool, a piazza, a private garden, and front and back lawns covered with tall hedges and palm trees.
Hilfiger’s other real estate ventures
Over the past few years, Tommy Hilfiger has sold and listed eclectic properties. The fashion designer first sold his Manhattan penthouse at the Plaza Hotel for $31.25 million. He’d originally bought it with his wife for $25.5 million and spent an additional $20 million renovating. A year after the sale, Hilfiger listed his long-time Connecticut Castle and Miami estate.
He’d bought the Connecticut estate in 1995 for $8.5 million while he was married to Susie Hilfiger. The house boasted six bedrooms and seven full and three half bathrooms. It was listed in September 2020 for $47.5 million and sold in January 2021 for $45 million.
The Miami house was purchased in 2013 and is more of a museum. It has seven bedrooms and ten bathrooms, along with numerous other amenities. Listed in September 2020 for $24.5 million, the Miami house hasn’t found any suitable buyer till now.
